Why I chose Ceramic Pro for ceramic coating installations.
With all the options out today for ceramic coatings on cars, it can be difficult to see through all the noise (marketing) and stunts (fire videos, scratch videos). I tested multiple over the counter coatings and researched tirelessly to find the right solution for my customers who were asking for ceramic coatings. After all of this I look back and the main things I looked for was durability, 3rd party product testing and innovation.
Durability of Ceramic Pro base coating 9H for automotive applications
1 layer of 9H Ceramic Pro is warrantied for years. Paired with its slicker counterpart Light (top coat) it’s warrantied for 5 years. 4 Layers of it and a top coat of Light is warrantied for Life. Based on these numbers I figured it was worth digging into a little more. After testing it, talking to other installers and researching online (digging through the marketing side of the videos to find real reviews) I though it would be worth going for. Which lead me to the next part, 3rd Party testing.
Proof is in the pudding or coating..
Ceramic Pro is 3rd party tested and published on record for anyone to research and see. Videos, papers and photos of product testing in harsh environments, in laboratory environments are available for us to read and see. This goes so much more beyond using a gloss meter to see what the effects of the ceramic coating are on the surface. Many other coatings are high gloss, super hydrophobic but I haven’t seen any lab quality testing done. Please see below for SGS Labs Verified lab resuls.
Innovation
In its 10 or more years around Ceramic Pro is on iteration 15 for many of their coatings, always trying to make it harder, give it a higher water contact angle and increase gloss. They also innovated coatings for specific applications like paint, rims, glass, leather, fabric etc. Here is a list of the automotive coatings. (Please note; they also make specific coatings for Gelcoat, and Marine applications)
- Ceramic Pro 9H – Base Coat
- Ceramic Pro Light – Top Coat
- Ceramic Pro Sport – Top Coat (spray)
- Ceramic Pro Rain – Glass coating
- Ceramic Pro Wheel & Calliper – High temperature for wheels, exhaust
- Ceramic Pro Textile – Fabric coating
- Ceramic Pro Leather – Leather specific ceramic coating
So that’s why I decided on Ceramic Pro but you are probably asking yourself why ceramic coat my car, truck or boat to begin with?Below is some info but the main reasons to do it are (1) low maintenance (2) protects interior damage from UV and spills/stains (3) extreme gloss and color depth on paint (4) hydrophobic
Good Investment
The coating will permanently protect the vehicles exterior and interior from deteriorating. The resale market value of your car will be higher as not only will the coating have tangible benefits (low maintenance, appearance, chemical resistance) for the new owner but the warranty is transferrable too. (CarFax registed warranty, Ceramic Pro Warranty)
Looking new all the time
Once the coating is applied you will see ultimate gloss and color depth. Its incomparable to anything else available. Properly maintained, the vehicle’s finish will shine for many many years to come.
Less Maintenance
The slickness of the coated surfaces (paint, glass, rims, leather) does not allow dirt, brake dust and tar, sweat on leather etc to stick to the vehicles surfaces. The coatin is so slick and resistant to chemicals that contaminates can be removed with less aggressive and damaging wash methods. Washing the vehicle becomes less labor intensive and needed less frequently. Waxing is made obsolete. Do not wax your coating.
Preservation of Factory Paint
Once cured, Ceramic Pro is measured to have a hardness above 9H. Normal clear coat has a hardness between 2H and 4H. The Glass shield prevents minor scratches to your clear-coat and acts as a sacrificial layer. Any scratches to the coating are easily removed without compromising the integrity of the factory original clear coat, with light polishing.
Glossy, slick and self-cleaning
The complex nano technology (fancy word for microscopic) used in the Ceramic Pro products allows the tiniest of pores in the paint to be filled making it slick, shiny, and smooth. This makes it extremely hydrophobic allowing water and contaminants to shed off the vehicle. It makes the leather and fabric inside easier to clean because it holds less of the dirt.
Permanent Protection – does not degrade.
Everyone I’ve done installs for have their own reason for why they want to install a coating. But they all are taking advantage of the increased color depth and gloss, low maintenance and good protection. Ceramic Pro can’t stop the weather or road chemicals from getting on the paint’s surface, but it helps you get those damaging chemicals off without any struggle and protects your factory clear coat from the damage until the next time you wash it.
